Series Resonant Converter Applied to Contactless Energy Transmission

چکیده
This paper presents the theoretical analysis, simulation and design optimisation of a Series Resonant Converter (SRC) working as an interface for inductive coupling. Inductive coupling is needed when the transfer of energy has to be made without any electrical contact. In this case the coupling transformer has to be separable, i.e., the transformer parameters are time varying variables, instead of constants. It is shown that, the operating region that leads to the highest efficiency can be identified. By appropriate control the SRC is insensitive to the transformer parameters’ variations and therefore, it is one of the most suitable topologies to be used in contactless energy transmission.

A novel Inductive Contactless Energy Transfer (ICET) system is presented in this paper. The energy is transferred using a rotatable air gap transformer and a power electronic converter. To minimize total losses of the system a series resonant circuit is applied, assuring zero current switching condition for IGBT power transistors. The analytical expression of the transfer dc voltage gain is giv...
متن کاملA New ZVZCS Isolated Dual Series Resonant DC-DC Converter with EMC Considerations
A novel ZVZCS isolated dual series-resonant active-clamp dc–dc converter is proposed to obtain high efficiency. The proposed converter employs an active-clamp technique, while a series-resonant scheme controls the output voltage with the complementary pulse width modulation controller. The active-clamp circuit serves to recycle the energy stored in the leakage inductance or the magnetizing ...

A loosely contactless transformer with a large air gap has small magnetizing inductance and large leakage inductance comparing with a closely conventional transformer. This paper focus on analysis, design and measurement results of the loosely winding contactless transformer using resonant converter. Finally, the experimental set up is built to transfer power of 300 W over the different gap var...
متن کاملHigh voltage gain DC-DC resonant converter
In this paper, a DC-DC resonant converter with high voltage gain and small size is studied. To reduce the size and weight of this converter, the operating frequency should be as high as possible. In this research, the frequency changes from 120 to 200 kHz. Due to the high operating frequency, it is necessary to reduce the switching losses using soft switching methods. Resonant converters are su...
متن کاملVoltage Regulation of DC-DC Series Resonant Converter Operating in Discontinuous Conduction Mode: The Hybrid Control Approach
Dynamic modeling and control of dc-dc series resonant converter (SRC) especially when operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is still a challenge in power electronics. Due to semiconductors switching, SRC is naturally represented as a switched linear system, a class of hybrid systems. Nevertheless, the hybrid nature of the SRC is commonly neglected and it is modeled as a purely contin...
